Do You Believe in Magic?

Do You Believe in Magic?

“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” - Roald Dahl

The other day, I posted on Instagram about believing in miracles.  I was inspired by a section of the book I’m currently reading:  You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero.  She talks about how amazing life on this planet really is, if you take a minute to stop and think about it.  How can you not believe in miracles?  The fact that you are alive, here, in this moment, is a miracle.  Your heart is beating, you are breathing without even being conscious of it, and you are reading my thoughts from wherever you are.  Miracles are happening every second of every day but it’s easy to get wrapped up in our day to day lives and forget to acknowledge that fact.

Today, I want to elaborate on this thought a bit more and talk to you about the magic I have been experiencing lately, along with the energy I have been feeling as a result of three major astrological events that happened this week:

1.       Spring Equinox – it is officially spring and I am so excited for all of the new beginnings and blossoming’s that are taking place!  The days are starting to get longer and the evenings are lighter, it feels good!

2.       Full Moon – over the past few months I have been getting more interested in the moon and astrology in general.  I think it’s so interesting how the energy of the moon can affect us.  I know this may sound a bit out there for some people, but when you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense!  Let’s put it this way…you acknowledge that the moon moves the tides, and we know that humans are about 60% water, so how can you not believe that the moon would have an effect on us?  When the moon is full, it is reflecting the sun’s energy back to us.  This is a good time to do some of your own reflection and release anything that is no longer serving you.

3.       Aries Season – the sun has moved into the sign of Aries, which marks the beginning of the astrological year.  Aligning with the Spring Equinox, it’s a time of rebirth, renewal, and new beginnings.  It’s an exciting time of year.  What seeds will you plant this season?  What project or initiative have been wanting to do but you keep putting off?  This is the time to do it.  Commit to yourself and make it happen!

What does all of this have to do with magic?  Call it what you want: coincidence, intuition, or magic; energy is moving and I can feel it.  A couple weeks ago during a Sunday night live online group meditation with Ashleigh Frankel, she talked about the concept of life magic.  Essentially, it’s those moments in life that catch you by surprise and you’re in awe of the magic of the world.  I have been having several of those moments lately and each time I am amazed.

To give you an example, I have been seeing an ad on Instagram for several weeks now for the Tony Robbins & Rachel Hollis live event in Toronto.  It’s not until October so when I saw it, I thought to myself “that would be cool but it’s a long time from now so I’m not going to buy a ticket yet”.  I kept seeing the ad and feeling tempted to buy a ticket but kept hesitating.  The other day I picked up my phone, opened Instagram and there was the ad again!  This time I thought to myself “I keep seeing this ad and I think it would be a great event, but I’m not going to stress myself out about it right now, if I’m meant to go it will happen” and I kept scrolling.  I’m not even exaggerating when I say that literally as soon as I had that thought and scrolled, I received a text from my friend who I had not mentioned anything about this event to, and she said “Hey!  I just bought a ticket to this event.  Do you want to go?”.  My jaw dropped.  I was like “ok, I get it, that’s my sign…the answer is yes”, I went and bought my ticket right then and there.

The lesson I got from that situation was that sometimes you need to release your grip and see what happens.  You also have to be open to opportunities and aware of the signs when they appear, because they will but sometimes it’s easy to miss them if we’re not present.  They’re not always going to be as obvious as a friend texting you!  This week, my challenge to you is to be present and see if you have any experiences of life magic.  It can be the simplest of things, the important part is that you are present so you can notice when it happens.  As the quote above says, you need to believe in magic if you ever hope to experience it.

Now I only have one question for you…do you believe in magic??  Cue The Lovin’ Spoonful! 😊

Wishing you all the magic in the world,

- Alyssa.
